Mayors of six districts from eastern Macedonia demand from the Government to financially help them with the construction and reconstruction of purification stations so they could use the water from the hydro system Zletovica as soon as possible. At the meeting with finance minister Zoran Stavreski, mayors of Stip, Sveti Nikola, Kratovo, Probistip, Lozovo and Karabinci considered the possibility to finance the station with a part of EUR 50 million that the government obtained recently from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the construction of water supply systems. The National Bank of Macedonia warns that the possible transferring of decreased solvency of Macedonian legal entities to the labour market could be important for the banking system. It could cause further increase of risks for the banking system. Crucial precondition for the preservation of the financial stability is maintenance of macroeconomic stability. SKOPJE (Macedonia), July 29 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's Komercijalna Banka said on Thursday its preliminary operating profit in the first half rose by 47% on the year to 495.7 million denars ($10.51 million/8.03 million euro).
Macedonia will pay 60 percent of the value of insurance policy for primary agriculture production. The Macedonian Ministry of Agriculture has managed to provide MKD 35 million for the purpose. Deadline for applying for the use of these means is by the end of the month. A condition is that only farmers with insured plantations and crops can apply for the means. Macedonia and Albania, which share an identical vision of Euro-Atlantic integration, are dedicated to regional cooperation and establishment of good neighbour relations, said Macedonian President Dorde Ivanov and head of Albanian diplomacy Ilir Meta today at a meeting held in Skopje. According to the President Ivanov’s Office, Ivanov and Meta said they were satisfied with bilateral relations between the two countries, which focus on furthering their friendship and building their relations through an open dialogue. Analyses of economic experts show that if the GDP of Greece drops by 5 percent, Macedonian economy will lose USD 30 million by the end of this year. Thus, the Greek crisis will have a significant impact on Macedonian companies which export to that country. Further projections show that Macedonia might lose USD 226 million by 2014. This would cause shutting down of many export-oriented companies which depend on the demand from Greece. Macedonia has received positive opinions as well as several negative opinions from Brussels. "We perceive this as appreciation of our efforts and efforts of all those who are included in reforms and modernization of Macedonia," said Macedonian PMNikola Gruevski. Macedonian agriculture minister Ljupco Dimovski has warned that producers and purchaser have to obey the regulations of the Tobacco and Tobacco Products Act. They have to agree the amounts of purchase and follow the entire production process through enhancement of cooperation between producers and purchasers. In this regard, several control teams of the State Inspectorate will monitor their business. Moreover, Macedonian tobacco is sought-after on foreign markets and therefore, the state is undertaking diverse steps for the purpose of finding new export markets. In late August, a delegation from China will visit Macedonia. Recently, China has been perceived as a new market for Macedonian tobacco.
